Join Nathan and Olivia on a heartwarming adventure to their cousin Kirk’s new ranch. From feeding newborn lambs to picking fresh fruit for homemade pies, this charming story celebrates the joys of nature, the curiosity of childhood, and the warmth of family traditions.
Nathan and Olivia arrive at Kirk’s sprawling new ranch, their faces beaming with excitement as they imagine all the animals they will meet. The sun shines brightly over the green fields and the beautiful new house waiting for them.
Inside the house, the children marvel at the spacious rooms filled with elegant furniture and cozy decorations. Kirk proudly shows them around his new home before they head outside for the real adventure.
Out in the yard, Kirk’s father carefully shears a fluffy sheep while the children watch with wide eyes. Olivia asks to help, but they learn that the sharp blades are only for experts to handle safely.
Nathan and Olivia sit on the grass, gently holding warm bottles of milk for the tiny, hungry lambs. The little lambs wag their tails happily as they drink, feeling calm and safe with their new friends.
Inside the cool, wooden barn, Kirk’s mother teaches Nathan how to milk a cow with a gentle touch. Nathan is amazed when a stream of fresh milk squirts perfectly into the metal bucket.
The children wander into the orchard, reaching up high to pluck ripe, red apples and juicy cherries from the heavy branches. They fill their baskets to the brim, knowing these fruits will soon become delicious pies.
At the fence, three majestic horses trot over to greet the visitors. Olivia shares some of their freshly picked apples with them, watching as the horses gently crunch on the sweet treats.
In the chicken pen, the children are surprised to find a cluster of tiny, yellow chicks that have just pecked their way out of their shells. Olivia whispers in awe at how small and soft the newborn birds look.
Near the muddy pig pen, Nathan and Olivia can’t stop giggling as they watch the pigs eat their breakfast with messy, happy enthusiasm. Nearby, a mother duck leads her fluffy ducklings in a neat line across the sparkling pond.
The day ends on a sweet note as everyone gathers to enjoy slices of warm, tart apple and cherry pie. Nathan and Olivia smile at each other, already dreaming of their next visit to the wonderful farmstead.

At the Farmstead Nathan's and Olivia's cousin Kirk invited them to his new house on the ranch. When they heard that he got a new place on a ranch, they started to feel excited to see a lot of farm animals. Nathan said, “Mommy and Daddy, our cousin Kirk new to a new house on a ranch and he invited us to come as see his new house.” When they reached Kirk’s new house Kirk said, “Hi Nathan and Olivia. Are excited see my new house and the whole farmstead?” Olivia said excitedly, “Yes we are”. When they saw all the rooms of Kirk’s new home, they looked spacious which luxurious furniture and decorations. After they walked around the house, Olivia asked Kirk to do them one favor, “Could you please take a tour around the farm and show us all the farm animals you have, Kirk?” “Sure! Of course.” said Kirk. Nathan and Olivia were eagerly waiting to see and play with the animals. When they saw a sheep, they saw Kirk's father shearing them. “May I shear one of the sheep?” Olivia asked Kirk’s father. “I'm sorry” said Kirk’s father, “but I can't let you try it because I am worried that you might hurt them with the sharp blades." “Can we feed the little lambs a bottle of milk?” asked Nathan Kirk's father replied, “Sure. This one, I will let you all do it.” As Nathan and Olivia were feeding the lambs a bottle of milk, they stayed happy and calm. When they entered the barn, they saw Kirk's mother milking the cows. Nathan asked, “Can I try to milk the cows?" Kirk's mom said, "Sure. But please be gentle because if you squeeze it too hard, the cows can kick you.” When Nathan squeezed the udder, the milk squirted out of the udder and into the bucket. Next, they went to the fruit tree to pick some apples and cherries for Kirk’s mother to make the pie. After they went apple and cherry picking, they saw all three horses. Olivia said, “Let’s give half the apples to the horses”. Kirk said, "Good idea because my mom is going to make an apple pie and a cherry pie." After seeing and feeding the horses, they returned to the house to drop off the cherries and the remaining apples. Kirk's mom said, "Thank you!" In the chicken pen, they saw the eggs hatch and felt surprised to see a lot of newborn chicks. "Wow!! They look so cute," said Olivia. "Can I hold one?" said Nathan. Kirk said, "I don't think so because they just hatched out of the eggs." At the duck pond they saw the ducklings swimming behind their mother. When they saw the pigs, they laughed when they saw the pigs butt, “Kirk look! All the pigs’ butts are showing.” said Olivia as she was laughing. Kirk said, ‘That’s because they do not wear clothes.” They constantly giggled when they saw the pigs eating their food hastily without any manners. When they returned to the house, the pies were ready. "Can we have a piece of both the pies?" asked Olivia. Kirk's mom said, "Of course." "Mmm!! Both the pies taste tart," said Nathan. "Same here," said Kirk. "Can we have another piece of each?" asked Olivia. "Kirk's mom said, "Yes! You all may." They felt happy that it was their first time visiting Kirk's new house and the farm. They hope and can't wait to do it again.
