Oliver's First Day

Oliver, a small owl with big, worried eyes, nervously clutched his lunch bag. Today was his first day at Forest School, and his tummy fluttered with butterflies. He imagined all the things that could go wrong – making mistakes, not making friends, and feeling lost in a big, unfamiliar world.

The Forest School loomed before him, a cozy, brightly colored tree trunk with a welcoming sign. Oliver took a deep breath, trying to be brave, and slowly followed his parents toward the entrance. Other young animals, squirrels, bunnies, and even a playful fox, were already gathered outside.

Inside the classroom, Miss Willow, a wise old owl, greeted Oliver with a warm smile. The room was filled with colorful drawings, comfy cushions, and fascinating learning tools. Oliver felt a tiny spark of curiosity starting to flicker amidst his nervousness.

During playtime, Oliver hid behind a large mushroom, feeling too shy to join the other children. A friendly squirrel named Hazel noticed him and offered a gentle invitation to play a game. Oliver hesitated, then cautiously agreed.

As the day went on, Oliver discovered he loved learning about the forest. He listened intently during story time, giggled at the silly games, and carefully crafted a beautiful leaf collage with Hazel and her friends. He began to feel more confident.

At lunchtime, Oliver shared his berries with a bunny named Benjamin. They laughed together as they tried to build a small tower with their snacks. Oliver realized that making friends wasn't as scary as he thought, and he even smiled for the first time that day.

When his parents came to pick him up, Oliver ran to greet them with a beaming face. He excitedly described his new friends and all the fun things he had learned. Oliver had conquered his fears and found that Forest School was not a place to be feared, but a place to be loved.
