Ben and Ned's Wet Day

Ben the big brown bear sits inside his cozy den. He looks out the door and sees his best friend, Ned the little green duck, splashing in the grass.

The sky turns gray and a cool rain begins to fall. Ben gets wet as he steps out of his den, but he loves the fresh smell of the damp woods.

Ned leads Ben to a beautiful, hidden valley where the grass is bright green. They meet a friendly red fox named Ted, who is resting under a large leaf.

Ted says he lost his favorite shiny red pen in the tall grass. Ben and Ned promise to help their new friend find it before the sun goes down.

A heavy net is stretched across the path, blocking their way. Ben uses his big paws to lift the net high so Ned and Ted can walk safely underneath.

The three friends walk past a shimmering blue pond and see ten little webbed feet splashing in the water. A family of tiny ducklings is swimming in a neat line.

Suddenly, Ned spots something shiny reflecting in the mud near a big rock. It is the lost red pen, safe and sound.

Ted is so happy to have his pen back that he does a joyful dance. He feeds his helpful friends some delicious, sweet berries from a nearby bush.

The rain finally stops, and the warm sun peaks through the clouds to dry the wet grass. A bright, beautiful rainbow stretches across the sky above the forest.

Ben, Ned, and Ted wave goodbye as the day ends. Ben walks back to his warm den, happy to be well-fed and tucked into his cozy bed.
