Beyond the Elite Circle

At Nusantara High School, a popular group known as The Elites always claims the best table in the cafeteria. They whisper among themselves and cast judgmental glances at anyone who tries to sit nearby, making the school feel divided by invisible walls.

Bima, a student known for his kindness, watches from a distance as a new student tries to approach the group to ask for directions. The Elites simply turn their backs and continue laughing, leaving the newcomer standing alone and embarrassed in the crowded hall.

During their Civics class, the teacher announces a special project called Unity in Diversity that will count for half of their grade. He explains that he has pre-selected the groups to ensure students work with people outside their usual social circles.

Aris, the arrogant leader of The Elites, is shocked to find himself paired with Bima and two other students he usually ignores. He drags his chair to their table with a loud scowl, making it clear he has no intention of being friendly.

As the group begins to brainstorm, Aris shoots down every idea Bima and the others propose, insisting his way is the only right way. The tension grows thick as the project stalls, with the other members feeling discouraged by Aris's refusal to cooperate.

Bima decides to speak up calmly, pointing out that their project is about unity and they are currently failing to practice what they are studying. He suggests they look at the unique talents each person brings, such as Siti's amazing digital art skills and Doni's knack for research.

Faced with a looming deadline and the realization that he cannot do everything alone, Aris finally goes quiet and listens to his teammates. He is surprised to find that Siti’s sketches are far better than anything he could have imagined for their presentation poster.

The group spends the next few afternoons in the library, working side-by-side and sharing snacks as they finalize their project. The cold barriers Aris once held up begin to melt away as he realizes how much fun he is having with his new friends.

On the day of the presentation, the group stands together at the front of the class, presenting a vibrant and thoughtful project on social inclusion. Their chemistry is evident to everyone, and the teacher praises them for truly embodying the spirit of the lesson.

A week later, the cafeteria looks completely different as Aris and Bima sit together at the center table, inviting the new student to join them. Bima smiles, realizing that breaking down exclusive walls has made the school a much brighter place for everyone.
