Suddenly, big, warm raindrops began to fall, pattering softly on the snow. Pip looked up, utterly confused, as tiny, colorful flowers popped open from the white ground all around him.
Pip soon spotted Sammy the Seal, who was trying to sunbathe on a melting ice floe but kept getting soaked by the unexpected shower. "What in the North Pole is going on?" Sammy wondered, shivering from the warmth.
A giant, shimmering ice screen flickered to life in the sky, showing Professor Hoot, the snowy owl weather reporter. He adjusted his tiny spectacles, his wise eyes wide with a puzzled expression.
"Today's forecast is... unpredictably extraordinary!" Professor Hoot announced, showing a graphic of a sun wearing a scarf and mittens. "We've got sunshine and snow, rain and rainbows, all at once!"
Meanwhile, Wally the Walrus was trying his best to keep cool under a tiny, colorful umbrella, fanning himself frantically with a fish. The unexpected heat made his magnificent tusks drip like icicles in springtime.
Penny the Puffin swooped down, looking glum. "The warm water has scared all the cold-loving fish away!" she sighed, flapping her wings. "This mixed-up weather is making mealtime mighty tricky!"
Pip gathered his friends, a thoughtful look on his face. "We need to understand this mixed-up weather!" he declared. "How does it make us feel? What can we do to help each other?"
