in 1970's the tribal war between the tribe of basao and butbut tribes was brought about and lasted for 3 years with victims on both sides using guns issued by Elizalde particularly the basao tribe. with the leadership of the elders in butbut tribe, one of them named "Talla" about 4'8" height with determination to defend his village, stood alone to lead his barrio mates to work together in their fields for them to survive. Mostly during night time he roamed around the village to make it sure no one from basao village to disturb them from working daily. because of his tested leadership, keeping all people in the nearby villages to work together in their respective village, people appreciated him and elected as Municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Tinglayan, kalinga Province. He maintained his good leadership to protect the village involved in different tribal conflicts with conflict resolutions.
