GAMAGE Bro… they say Classroom 10 is haunted after school. PERERA I don’t believe in ghosts. (beat) PERERA But I believe in transferring schools. SASMITH (calm) If it’s haunted, why is it always a classroom? Why not the principal’s office? Silence. SREEANI Because rumors always pick the weakest target. Everyone looks at Classroom 10. Bandara quietly smiles. SCENE 2 – OUTSIDE CLASSROOM 10 Door slightly open. No one wants to go first. GAMAGE We should vote. PERERA I vote “no school today.” SREEANI (already walking in laughing like a lunatic) everyone looking at her weirdly SREEANI If you’re scared of an empty room, you’ve already lost. Everyone follows her. Bandara whispers behind them: BANDARA …get out… Perera instantly screams. PERERA WHY IS THE GHOST USING ENGLISH?! SCENE 3 – INSIDE CLASSROOM Sreeani leads like a detective. SREEANI Stay calm. Observe everything. GAMAGE I’m observing my funeral. Sasmith slowly sits(emotionally) SASMITH If I die, tell my parents i love cats Bandara secretly knocks lightly from behind a desk. (TOK TOK) Everyone freezes. PERERA Nope. I'm done SCENE 4 – THE BOARD MESSAGE They turn. On board: “LEAVE.” GAMAGE Even ghost is tired of us Sreeani walks closer. SREEANI look like bandaras letters on her vichara book She turns slowly and looks directly at Bandara. Bandara smiles too fast and stop smiling soon as sreeani turn to her SCENE 5 – CHAOS BEGINS Bandara tries another scare (hitting the table with the her foot) But Sasmith ruins it accidentally by dropping his bag. Sound comes wrong timing. Instead of fear… awkward silence. SREEANI Whoever is doing this… is failing. PERERA Even the ghost needs tuition. SCENE 6 – SREEANI INVESTIGATION MODE Sreeani walks around slowly. SREEANI Only one person here is enjoying this situation. Everyone slowly looks at Bandara SREEANI: laughed like a kettle bandara: shik BANDARA Why are you all looking at me ? Sreeani lists calmly: fake voice came from his direction he is enjoying fear too much handwriting looked like urs SREEANI It’s you.(falling down laughing like a kettle) SCENE 7 – REVEAL Bandara sighs. BANDARA Okay fine. It was me. GAMAGE Bro I screamed spiritually for nothing?! PERERA adoo SASMITH I sat down emotionally. FINAL SCENE – TWIST COMEDY END They all calm down. Walking out. Bandara behind them. Suddenly… All lights flicker (someone just switches light ON/OFF) Everyone stops. PERERA …you didn’t do that? Bandara slowly shakes head. Silence. Sreeani turns slowly. SREEANI Don’t tell me— Another faint whisper: “…leave…” Everyone screams instantly and runs. Bandara runs too. GAMAGE (running) iyaaa!
