Cilan arrives on the lush, tropical shores of Valencia Island and is soon joined by a joyful group of friends including Iris, Dawn, May, and Max. The excitement grows as Clemont, Bonnie, and a group of trainers from the Alola region appear, turning the quiet beach into a grand reunion under the bright sun.
The group decides to cool off in the crystal-clear ocean, splashing and playing in their colorful swimwear while enjoying the waves. Cilan dives deep into the water from a high rock to observe the local water Pokémon, but he becomes trapped in a mysterious slumber as a gentle Lapras passes by, leaving his friends on the shore calling out for him in worry.
Suddenly, a majestic Gyarados rises from the sea, carrying a brave young woman named Felica Ivy who has rescued the sleeping Cilan. After being safely returned to the shore and waking up to see his hero, the group learns she is the famous Professor Ivy before they all share a warm goodbye as she returns to her laboratory.
