A Heart Full of See-You-Laters

The sun shines through the windows of Room 1-A, where twenty-six bright desks are waiting for twenty-six bright students. Ms. Angelina stands at the door, her olive skin glowing and her purple-blue hair tips catching the morning light. Today is a special day, her very last day of student teaching in this magical place.

Ms. Kristin, the wonderful mentor teacher, gives Ms. Angelina a warm smile as the morning bell rings. Ms. Lisa and Mrs. Turner, the amazing educational assistants, are already busy helping students hang up their backpacks. The room is instantly filled with the happy chatter of twenty-six creative and funny children.

During math and reading, the students show off how smart they are by solving tricky puzzles and sharing big ideas. Ms. Angelina watches them with pride, realizing that these little learners have taught her just as much as she taught them. Their curiosity and clever questions make every lesson feel like a grand adventure.

At the art table, the students unleash their creativity with glitter, glue, and bright crayons. One student tells a silly joke that makes the whole class burst into giggles, and Ms. Angelina laughs right along with them. It is moments like these that confirmed her dream: she was born to be a teacher.

Ms. Lisa and Mrs. Turner move through the room like superheroes, offering kind words and helping hands to everyone. Ms. Angelina watches how they care for each child and feels so lucky to have worked with such an incredible team. She takes a mental picture of the classroom, wanting to remember every smile and every masterpiece.

In the afternoon, everyone gathers on the colorful rug for one last circle time together. Ms. Angelina looks at each of her twenty-six friends, remembering the stories they wrote and the games they played. The room feels full of love, even though there is a little bit of sadness in the air.

Ms. Kristin stands up to say some kind words about Ms. Angelina's hard work and big heart. The students cheer and present her with handmade cards filled with drawings of her purple-blue hair. Ms. Angelina feels her eyes get a little misty, but her heart feels bigger than it has ever been.

Instead of saying goodbye, Ms. Angelina explains that this is a see you later day. She tells the class that teachers are like gardeners, and even when they move to a new garden, they never forget the flowers they helped grow. Each student will always have a special place in her heart.

As the final bell rings, there are lots of high-fives and warm hugs at the classroom door. Ms. Lisa and Mrs. Turner wave as the students head to the bus, their backpacks bobbing up and down. Ms. Angelina realizes that while her practicum is over, her journey as a teacher is just beginning.

Ms. Angelina walks out of the school building, looking back at the window of Room 1-A one last time. She carries her bag of cards and a heart full of memories of her first twenty-six students. With a bright smile, she steps into the future, ready to change the world, one classroom at a time.
