Overwhelmed by sadness, Nehemiah kneels in a quiet corner of the palace gardens to pray for guidance. He asks the Almighty for favor and the strength to help his people restore their broken home and their dignity.
With a brave heart, Nehemiah approaches the King and asks for permission to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the city. The King kindly grants his request, providing him with official letters of passage and timber for the massive project.
Under the silver glow of the moon, Nehemiah rides his horse around the crumbling stone walls of Jerusalem to assess the damage. He carefully studies every crack and pile of rubble, planning a strategy to turn this ruin back into a fortress.

When enemies try to stop the work through threats and fear, the people refuse to back down. While some continue to build with trowels, others stand guard with spears and shields, protecting their progress and one another.
In just fifty-two days, the final stone is placed and the massive wooden gates are swung shut for the first time in years. The once-broken walls now stand tall and strong, a testament to the power of unity and determination.

After the Babylonian exile, the Persian Empire allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem and this came after the people of Judah had been taken captive from Jerusalem to Babylon following its conquest by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. So Neremaia was a Jewish leader living during the time of the Persian Empire and he served as the Copera to King Arthas Erchis, a position of great trust, responsibility and influence. It was like my senior admin assistant. So when Neremaia heard that the walls of Jerusalem were still in ruins long after the exile, of course he was deeply distressed. So those broken walls represented more than physical damage to a city. They symbolized that people left vulnerable, discouraged and exposed. So moved by compassion and a strong sense of purpose, Neremaia turned first. Did he turn first to prayer? So he turned first to prayer seeking God's guidance. Then with courage he would have received from the Almighty he approached the king and asked for permission to return to Jerusalem to rebuild. The king granted his request and even provided the resources and support he needed. When Neremaia arrived in Jerusalem he did not rush into action. Instead he carefully assessed the situation. That's when we do our SWOT analysis every year. He saw the disruption, the challenges and the risks ahead in our risk plan. But he also saw the potential, the opportunities, the new strategies and he inspired the people to rise up and rebuild. The task was not easy. Why the walls were broken down? Resources were limited and the surrounding enemies attempted to discourage the work through fear, threats and division. Of course the distractions. Still though the people stood together. Families and groups worked side by side, each responsible for repairing a portion of the wall. Some built, yes, some did their adjustments, others stood guard, the portfolio management and many encouraged one another. Everyone had a role to play and every contribution mattered. Though they faced exhaustion and opposition, they remained united and remarkably the wall was completed in just 52 days. Wow! But Neremaia's leadership was about more than rebuilding walls. It was about renewal. He helped restore hope, strengthen unity and remind the people of who they are and what they share. We will be national leaders in mortgage portfolio management. Neremaia's story shows us that great things happen when leadership is guided by faith. When people work together and when individuals use their unique strengths toward a common purpose, it is a powerful example of resilience, teamwork and what is possible when everyone commits to doing their part with the help of the Almighty.
