The Bubble Dance: Adam’s Handwashing Fun

Adam is having a wonderful time playing in the backyard sandbox, building tall towers and digging deep holes. He looks down and sees that his hands are covered in brown garden dirt and tiny bits of sand.

Mom calls from the kitchen because it is time for a delicious lunch. Adam knows that before he can touch his food, he must go to the sink and make his hands clean and bright.

Adam walks to the bathroom and stands on his sturdy little step stool so he can reach the sink. He carefully turns the faucet, and cool, clear water begins to splash and dance into the basin.

He reaches for the colorful soap bottle and presses down to get a big, slippery dollop of soap. The soap smells like sweet strawberries and feels soft as it spreads across his small palms.

Adam rubs his palms together in big circles, creating a mountain of white, fluffy bubbles. He giggles as the bubbles grow bigger and bigger, covering his hands like soft, soapy mittens.

Now he remembers to scrub the backs of his hands and hide the soap between his fingers. He wiggles his fingers back and forth to make sure every little spot is covered in magical white suds.

He pretends his fingernails are little boats and scrubs them gently against his soapy palms. This special trick makes sure that even the tiniest bits of dirt from the garden are all washed away.

Adam puts his hands under the running water to rinse all the bubbles and dirt down the drain. He watches the suds swirl away, leaving his skin feeling fresh, cool, and very clean.

He reaches for his favorite soft towel hanging on the wall and wraps it around his wet hands. He pats them dry until they are warm and cozy, feeling very proud of his handwashing skills.

With sparkling clean hands and a big happy smile, Adam sits down at the kitchen table. He is ready to enjoy his lunch, knowing he did a great job following his healthy handwashing routine.
