Chris & Nickie's Love Story: Page 1 Chris & I met through mutual friend groups that kept inviting us to hang out. So we would run into each other at different events like dinners, going to the W for dancing, parties hosted by DJs and so forth. One night, my friend wanted to hang out with one of Chris’ cousins and invited me an hour north to be there with her as moral support. I wasn't feeling well. I didn't want to go, but she said, “Do it for love.” Please help me. So I was like, fine. It was at a fancy place, kind of museum-ish and they had hired chefs to cook. There was a live DJ. You could take a tour of the place. It was very, like, artsy, art deco. I only knew my friend there. It was she, the guy she's trying to talk to, and I at this huge table. I'm sitting across from them. Then Chris and his cousins showed up and I was a little familiar with them, but not really. Chris kept stopping by and sitting at the table and was talking to me a little bit so that I wasn't there awkwardly with my friend and the guy. After a while, he gets up to take a tour of the place. So I jump up too like, I'm coming with y'all. This also allowed me to give my friend and the guy some space. By now, my phone ended up dying so I ended up using Chris's phone to take photos putting myself in the photo, and I just sent it all to myself that night. So, of course, Chris was like, “who does that?! She must like me.” That night ended up being horrible (I couldn’t order anything to eat, phone died, had a migraine, had to sleep at my sister’s house instead of going home). But when I got there and I plugged my phone in, there was a message from Chris: “…checking to see that you made it home safely…” That was nice of him. Page 2 After that we continued running into each other. And that's how our friendship started to grow. Eventually we started inviting each other to the events we were planning. At that time I was interested in in really tall guys since I’m 5’8”. Chris is 5’11 but I didn’t realize since I had a habit of wearing 4-6” heels to events. One event, Chris invited me to was the Food & Wine festival. I thought, “Okay, I think he's a nice guy, and he's single. Not sure of his age, but he looks younger than me. Let me invite all of my cute friends and see if he hits it off with any of them.” (He was too short for me) But at this festival, I wore flats because it was going to be a lot of walking, and I had to look up to him! His dress code had changed. He had a gold chain on, a fedora, the cologne was everything, and I was like, oh! And! He only showed up with one of his cousins. And I was like, oh, snap. He was just trying to hang out with ME. And I invited all of my cute friends! Panic started to set in. However, when speaking to my friends, all of his questions were centered around me! “How do you know Nickie? How do you know Nickie?” I calmed down. Then as we were leaving that restaurant, held the door for everyone, but as I was leaving, he guided me through the door slightly pushing my lower back. That’s when I looked up, saw him and I knew I liked him. He thinks that I liked him from the museum night… Page 3 During that night, I made sure that we already had plans for our next connect. So I started planning the next event, which was kayaking. Everyone that was invited that night was invited to kayaking. Now I was determined to figure out hold he was. When you rent a kayak, you have to fill out the form with your DOB, I started hovering to see what year he put down, but when he noticed me, he cupped his hand over his form (jokingly) bc he wasn’t sure what I was doing lol. Plan failed☹ Since I arranged that event and ended up inviting a friend that didn’t know anyone else, that friend and I ended up in the kayak together. Chris ended up in the kayak with one of my girlfriends from the F&W night. I felt some type of way, but was fine because at the end of the kayak trip, Chris ended up creating a collage for his Instagram, but every photo in the Instagram post is cropped where you can't even see who's in the kayak with him, but my face is in every picture. And he even handed me his phone to write the caption for it. 😊 I confided in my friend and her husband that I liked Chris, but didn’t know too much about him or his age. My friend’s husband vouched for him saying, “He balls”. What does that even mean? “He balls. He's good.” Page 4 Chris must like me by now. So, we started communicating more via text. I'm sending him all these questions to get to know him better, and then \ a song popped into his head, 21 questions by 50 Cent. “ what is this? 21 questions?” “I have to ask questions to get to know you better, duh.” But I took the hint and laid back on asking questions. Plot twist! Now he wanted to converse with me, so now he started asking me questions, and then we slowly got to know each other that way. To the point where we were talking every day… that means we're dating. Official, he showed up to my job with f
