One summer morning, into the pond, I went a swimming There I saw three fat ducks, their tails, all wibbling and wobbling Quack quack quack quack said one Quack quack quack quack quack said another And so it goes again and again the ducks quacking and marching and marching and quacking They didn’t even see me there watching while swimming One summer morning, into the woods, I went a hunting I looked here and I looked there, but all I saw were two squirrels bickering One threw a nut which hit the other in the head I thought he’d throw it back but he’s clever, you see, and ate it instead Yum yum yum yum he said, as the other’s cheeks turned red That’s what you get for throwing a nut in my head One summer morning, into the forest, I went a jogging And by the big old tree, I hear a snake slithering and hissing Sssssssssssss sssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssss, is it singing merrily? Sssssssssssss sssssssssssssss sssssssssssssssss, or weeping ever so sadly? Whatever it is I shall never know for it heard my tip tippitty toe and slithered quite hastily Goodbye snake! I hope all’s well. Stop spending the day just hissing oh so endlessly One summer morning into the fair I went a walking There I saw a man with bears and monkeys prancing and dancing They shake and they wiggle as the man plays his fiddle Forming a wobbly, strange and incredibly silly big circle Hey diddle diddle, sang the one in the middle The baby in the cradle wants a big warm love cuddle One summer morning something came a knocking I opened the door and I started shivering Something’s odd, the wind felt cold, you can hear it blow Whoosh boooosh shwoosh like a bunch of ghosts trapped in limbo I wrinkled my nose up and down and up again and there at its tip fell the first drop of winter snow The cold dark days are here, brrrrrr! That is cold! It’s time cover up from head to toe And so that ends my great summer mornings, it’s sad, quite sad, indeed But for every goodbye there will always be a new hello! So say we all, so say we all
