At the Park One cool Sunday evening, two friends named Sam and Pam set off to the Farley Hill National Park for what promised to be a day of joy and excitement. Pam loved the smell of the pine trees, the sound of the whistling wind, and the feel of the cool breeze blowing against her face. Sam, on the other hand, simply loved to laugh and have fun. Together they made the perfect pair. “We’re here!” said Pam with a smile as they arrived. “Now, let’s play ball!” yelled Sam. Any game with a ball was their favourite sport. They were that good! Soon after they started playing, three friends came along named; John, Seth and May and challenged them to a game of football. Quickly, the teams were set. John and May were on the red team, while Sam and Pam were on the blue team, with Seth as the goalkeeper. The first goal went to the red team. “One- naught!” shouted Seth. The game had just begun, and the blue team was confident that no one could beat them at ball. “Goal, blue team,” called Seth moments later. “Now I challenge you to get more than one goal!” Pam shouted. Just that moment, John kicked the ball so hard that it flew straight into a tree. “I’ll get it,” said Pam, “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to climb one of those trees.” I don’t think that’s a good idea,” said Sam. But Pam was confident. She quickly climbed up the tree and reached the ball. She paused for a moment to enjoy the view before starting her way down. “See nothing to worry ab....” she began. Just then, a huge hairy spider crawled on her shoulder. Startled, Pam lost her balance.... and fell. Everyone froze in fear - except Seth, who quickly ran to help her. He checked her carefully. “She’ll be ok, he said calmly.” No one knew that Seth had earned his first aid badge from Boy Scouts. Slowly, Pam opened her eyes and said, “that took my breath away.. but now I know what it is like to climb so high.” They all sighed with relief and thanked Seth. As they said their goodbyes and began heading home, Pam looked back with a small smile and said, “I guess we have to call it a tie.”
