Ivory Learns to Stay in Class Ivory is a Primary 1 student. She is kind and loves to play. Sometimes, when it is time to change to a new lesson, Ivory feels upset. She does not like stopping one activity to start another. When the teacher says, “It is time for Maths,” Ivory feels worried. She runs out of the classroom because she wants to keep doing what she likes. Running out of the classroom is not safe. The teacher and her friends worry about Ivory. One day, her teacher taught Ivory how to do mindful breathing. When she feels upset, she stops, takes a slow deep breath in through her nose, and breathes out slowly through her mouth. She does this three times. Mindful breathing helps her body feel calm and ready. Ivory practises mindful breathing every day. At first, it is hard. But she keeps trying. Soon, Ivory can stay in the classroom and move to the next lesson calmly. Her teacher smiles and says, “Well done, Ivory! You stayed safe and were ready to learn.” Ivory feels proud of herself. Every time she uses mindful breathing and stays in class, she becomes calmer, braver, and more confident. I can be like Ivory. I can use mindful breathing, stay safe, stay in class, and try my best. create story for primary 1
