Join little Leo on a series of whimsical summer morning adventures, from wobbly ducks to bickering squirrels and dancing fair animals. This charming picture book celebrates the magic of everyday discoveries and the bittersweet beauty of changing seasons, reminding us that every goodbye holds the promise of a new hello.
One bright summer morning, little Leo skipped all the way to the sparkling pond. He loved the cool water and the way the lily pads floated like tiny green boats. As he dipped his toes in, he spotted something wonderful.
Three plump, happy ducks were gliding gracefully, their tails all wibbling and wobbling with every stroke. 'Quack quack quack quack!' chirped one, then 'Quack quack quack quack quack!' answered another. They marched and quacked, completely unaware of Leo watching their silly parade.
Another summer morning, Leo ventured into the shady green woods, hoping for a new adventure. He peered behind every tree and under every bush, searching for hidden wonders. Instead, he heard a tiny commotion above.
Up on a branch, two fluffy-tailed squirrels were having a very animated disagreement! One cheeky squirrel tossed a nut, bonking the other right on the head. Leo expected a nut-tossing war, but the clever squirrel just munched it with a grin. 'Yum yum yum yum!' it chattered, as the other's cheeks puffed red with surprise.
Early one sunny day, Leo laced up his bright sneakers for a jog through the enchanted forest. He loved the fresh air and the rustling leaves beneath his feet. Near a grand old tree, a soft, silky sound caught his ear.
Sssssssssssss sssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssss, went the sound. Was it a happy song or a sad sigh? Leo tiptoed closer, curious, but his little 'tip tippitty toe' gave him away! With a swift slither and a final 'ssssss', the snake vanished into the tall grass, leaving Leo to wave goodbye.
Then came a morning when Leo strolled into the bustling summer fair, his eyes wide with excitement. Bright banners fluttered, and happy music filled the air. In the very center of the fun, he saw a most extraordinary sight.
A kind man played a lively fiddle as his amazing animal friends pranced and danced! Bears wiggled their big bellies, and monkeys shimmied with glee. They formed a wobbly, wonderfully silly circle, twisting and twirling to the music. 'Hey diddle diddle!' sang a little monkey, asking for a cuddle.
But then, one morning, a strange rap-rap-rap echoed at Leo's door. He opened it, and a shiver ran down his spine! The wind blew cold, whooshing and booooshing like playful ghosts. He wrinkled his nose, and right on its tip, a tiny, cold snowflake landed.
Brrrrr! The cold dark days of winter had arrived, and Leo quickly bundled up from head to toe in his warmest clothes. Summer mornings were gone, and it made him a little bit sad. But Leo knew that for every goodbye, there's always a new hello just around the corner, waiting to be discovered!
